Our Story

It all started in spring of 2022 with a simple wish — I wanted one for myself.
After doing 30+ art shows a year I’d seen plenty of yard art, but never the kind of garden post I was imagining. I love sitting outside on my patio, but there are times of year when everything is waiting to bloom and the color just isn’t there yet. So I picked up a brush and painted my first one.
I love bright, whimsical art — our cats, nature’s flowers, birds, butterflies — and that first post had all of it. I loved the creating so much that when Mother’s Day came around I made one for each of my daughters-in-law.
After 25+ years of painting earring holders I had found something new that truly lit me up. I kept painting — 4-foot posts, 2-foot posts — and before long had enough to set up at a Farmers Market. They sold. People loved them.
That fall I opened my Etsy shop, not expecting much. Then the holiday orders started rolling in. Then spring came and orders picked up so fast I could barely keep up with both Etsy and the Farmers Markets.
Since then I’ve hand painted and shipped over 400 garden posts — every single one made to order, painted by hand, and one of a kind.
That’s what Gypsy Garden Posts is — outdoor art with heart, made by hand, one post at a time.
